Registered Respiratory Therapist
About The Position
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs providing specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. Treatments include breathing techniques, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support. The role involves assessing diverse patient needs, developing and carrying out care plans, and providing calm, focused intervention in routine and emergent situations. Success requires urgency, composure under pressure, and the ability to anticipate outcomes, alongside dedication to patient well-being and strong problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy education program, upon hire.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner: Arkansas, upon hire.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, within 30 days.
- Basic Life Support (CPR), within 30 days.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 30 days.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy based on patients’ age, cognitive and physical abilities, and developmental needs.
- Recommend changes to specific modes of therapy.
- Educate patients and arrange home respiratory care services and therapy follow-up assessments using language and materials appropriate to their age, cognitive and physical abilities, and developmental needs.
- Pursue personal and professional growth through department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education programs.
- Maintain department policies, procedures, and objectives concerning quality assurance, safety, environmental conditions, and infection control.
