About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist role within the University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and significantly assists individuals with breathing issues. We currently offer an opportunity for a full time nights, Registered Respiratory Therapist to support adult patients in our acute care hospital in Ashland.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Respiratory (Required) or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory (Required)
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Required Upon Hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
NRP Certification (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months)

Nice To Haves

1+ years Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Mechanical ventilation
Medicated aerosol delivery
Airway clearance therapy
Patient monitoring
Oxygen and humidity therapy
Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.)
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
