About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for an acute care assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong pediatric respiratory care experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment with minimal orientation and supervision.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license/registration required
• Minimum 2 years of post-degree acute care clinical experience required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to function independently in an acute care setting

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric respiratory care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy treatments
• Institute and monitor oxygen therapy for patients
• Assist physicians with initiation and maintenance of continuous ventilation
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when required
• Perform pulmonary function testing and radial arterial punctures
• Monitor patient respiratory status and respond to clinical changes appropriately
• Deliver respiratory care services in accordance with hospital policies and patient care standards
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
