Join a respiratory care team that practices at the highest level in one of the region’s most dynamic clinical environments. This role involves assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders. The Registered Respiratory Therapist IV initiates and conducts therapeutic procedures, maintains patient records, and selects, assembles, checks, and operates equipment. The position requires demonstrated competency in respiratory therapeutics, use of non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary diagnostics, and other essential equipment. Accurate and precise documentation is crucial, along with strong analytical reasoning and effective patient care management skills blended with technical expertise. Open and effective communication with all members of the healthcare team is expected. Proficiency in quality control and maintenance of arterial blood gas analyzers, specimen collection, and analysis of blood for gas transport and acid/base determination is also a key responsibility. The role requires reasonably regular and punctual attendance, compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, and the ability to provide care appropriate to the patient’s age and medical condition. Expertise in medical gas administration, environmental control systems, humidification, medication delivery, invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation is necessary. Care is provided for patients in non-critical care, intermediate care, and intensive care units. This position has advanced clinical skills and job responsibilities as described in the RRT Clinical Ladder program, including but not limited to preceptor, mentor, educator, and clinical specialist roles. The therapist will also instruct clinical practicum students. The role requires understanding of growth and development principles and the ability to assess patient status based on age-specific needs.
