Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner
About The Position
Tryfacta is seeking a Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner for our client in Templeton, CA 93465. This is a 13-week contract assignment. The role involves providing basic and critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, assessing and documenting the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies, administering aerosol and oxygen therapy, drawing arterial blood gases, providing respiratory care and monitoring for ventilator patients, performing drainage procedures, and documenting all care provided. The practitioner will also assist with department record keeping, operations, quality-related activities, training and supervision of new employees, and providing instruction to nursing personnel. Recommendations regarding patient treatment and pulmonary progress are also part of the role, along with following department policies and safety standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program required.
- California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
- BLS certification required.
- NRP certification required at hire or within 90 days.
- ACLS certification required at hire or within 90 days.
- PALS certification required at hire or within 90 days.
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS accepted.
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS accepted.
- AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS accepted.
Nice To Haves
- NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential preferred.
- Experience providing respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic and critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients.
- Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies and provide recommendations as needed.
- Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining accurate patient records.
- Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs) according to physician orders and department policies.
- Provide respiratory care and monitoring for ventilator patients.
- Perform drainage procedures and provide additional patient care related to cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Document all respiratory care provided, treatments, charges, and required records in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with department record keeping, operations, and quality-related activities.
- Assist with training and supervision of new employees as delegated.
- Provide instruction to nursing personnel regarding patient and equipment surveillance after initial installation.
- Provide recommendations regarding patient treatment and pulmonary progress.
- Follow department policies, patient safety standards, and applicable respiratory care procedures.
