Radiology Technologists utilize x-ray equipment to capture images of the body for interpretation by a Radiologist. Their responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, positioning them correctly, operating equipment efficiently, and obtaining high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure. Technologists may specialize in areas like bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear medicine. This specific role involves working days, from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm on weekends, with the possibility of floating to other facilities as needed.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes
Can communicate well with Radiologists and physicians to coordinate proper imaging of patients
Strong communication skills are essential to provide excellent care to patients and families
Can function well with minimal or no direct supervision

Responsibilities

Perform general radiology exams, portable exams, and fluoroscopic procedures.
Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via PACS.
Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Maintain documentation.
Address equipment malfunctions, notify management, and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.
Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine patient priority, and process billing.
