Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. As a Registered Radiology Technologist, you will perform Radiology exams and Fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages while maintaining patients' safety. By taking on this role, you will help to create an accurate diagnosis to support the treatment plan for each patient you see. A caregiver in this role works nights + on-call shifts from 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Responsibilities

  • Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Maintain documentation.
  • Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.
  • Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients and process billing.
  • Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
  • Potentially rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations.
