About The Position

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Registered Radiology Tech for our Outpatient Imaging office in White Oak, MD who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a Registered Radiologic Technologist you will perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol, properly identify patients, review orders and select diagnostic x-ray protocol to maximize quality and safe patient care. You will accurately perform documentation in all computer systems applicable to diagnostic x-ray/DEXA (HIS, RIS, PACS,), monitor and assist patients before, during and after examinations, and maintain a clean and safe environment. You will be knowledgeable and practice ALARA principles including proper shielding of patients, and maintain patient, organizational and employee confidentiality. You will apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients we serve (pediatrics, geriatrics, and adolescents). You will receive patients, explain procedures, and answer all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam. You will maintain the schedule with a flexible attitude to accommodate variable volume, and assist in orienting new employees and training radiography students. You will participate in PI projects and other duties as assigned. Your actions and attitudes will support Adventist HealthCare’s mission and RISES values. Responsibilities also include stocking and management of supplies/linen for the assigned area and administration of oral contrast materials when appropriate. You will work collaboratively with other members of the care team to expedite patients’ examinations while maintaining excellent patient relations and demonstrating our RISES values.

Requirements

  • High school or GED
  • 1 year’s radiography experience preferred; New Grads welcome
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) R.T.(R)
  • State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Dexa required- willing to train
  • Strong customer service & critical thinking skills
  • Effective verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work independently in a busy, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic PC skills including RIS/PACS experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography/and OR associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred)
