Performs a variety of radiographic procedures applying ionizing radiation. This role requires assisting in various procedures such as ERCP's, video fluoroscopies, all OR procedures, Lumbar punctures, bronchoscopies, enterocolitis, sialo grams, rhizotomy, facet blocks, endoscopy-tube placements or injections, t-tube cholangiogram, major trauma/trauma bay, neo-natal ICU, and pacing lab. The technologist also performs all critical care procedures and demonstrates competency in procedures like arthrograms, myelograms, venograms, minor trauma, and troubleshooting complex studies. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting equipment problems, obtaining nursing assessments when nursing is unavailable, assessing patient condition and cooperation, documenting infiltrates and reactions, quality checking images, documenting in PACS or EPIC, restarting and programming IVACs, responding to codes, staying updated on departmental changes, promoting patient care and safety, ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining equipment, fostering good relationships, solving personnel problems, assisting staff during shortages, informing patients of delays, operating the PACS system, and achieving patient satisfaction by adhering to behavior essentials.
