About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking to add a Registered Pulmonary Technologist to our Downtown location in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity. At Baptist Health, a Registered Pulmonary Technologist is responsible for performing specialized pulmonary diagnostic testing and supporting physicians in the evaluation and treatment of patients with respiratory conditions. This role includes conducting pulmonary function testing, assisting with advanced procedures such as bronchoscopy, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of diagnostic equipment and results. The Pulmonary Technologist works closely with physicians and healthcare teams to provide safe, accurate, and high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Certificate Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Florida Licensed Respiratory Therapist Required
Nice To Haves
- Associate of Science Preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Preferred
Responsibilities
- Performing and completing pulmonary function testing, including stress testing
- Troubleshooting, calibrating, and performing quality control on PFT analyzers
- Drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases
- Assisting physicians with bronchoscopy procedures
- Supporting bronchoscopy procedures, including SD, EBUS, and robotic systems
- Assisting with monthly quality assurance (QA) reporting
- Maintaining accurate and complete documentation of testing and patient results
