Requirements

Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers.
Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care.

Responsibilities

Delivering a great customer service experience by demonstrating compassion and empathy towards residents, family members, and team members.
Providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
Implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making changes as required.
Completing and ensuring resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans, and documentation are accurate and up-to-date.
Teaching, delegating, and directing unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching and mentorship.
