About The Position

CCC-3 is an exciting inpatient service within the Acute Care program at CAMH. We are seeking a part-time, permanent (0.5 FTE) Registered Practical Nurses to join the team. CCC-3 is a 25 bed unit that provides support to adults experiencing the acute phase of a mental and/or addictions disorder. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide client-centred psychiatric and general nursing care and ensure the security, the safety and the CNO standards of nursing practice are maintained. Using a primary nursing model, you will collaborate with the primary nurse to perform assessments, develop, implement and evaluate the interdisciplinary plan of client care for clients experiencing a variety of mental health issues. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Registered Practical Nurse will be responsible for working with patients from diverse backgrounds, contributing to program development; and provide education support and supervision to students. You will have sound knowledge of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, addiction issues, trauma issues, and severe and persistent mental illnesses. You are expected to support group programming on the unit. Requirements

  • Registered Practical Nurse qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, addiction issues, trauma issues, and severe and persistent mental illnesses.
