Hourly Compensation Range: $37 PLUS $1000 Sign-On Bonus Bayshore Medical Personnel is excited to announce a Full-time Contract opportunity for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN/LPN) with one (1) year of experience to join the team in Ottawa, Ontario. We're looking for dedicated professionals to make a meaningful impact in Military Health Services! The successful RPN/LPN provides services to patients on a walk-in and appointment basis in various primary and ambulatory care settings such as the Care Delivery Unit (CDU), treatment room, and specialty clinic.
Requirements
- One (1) full-time equivalent year of experience within the last 3 years in nursing practice conducting patient assessments and providing direct nursing care for a broad range of diseases in the adult population in a primary care or ambulatory care setting.
- Graduated from a Practical Nursing Program approved by Council of the College of Nurses
- Current and valid license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice
- Certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C
- Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (within 2 years)
- Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (within 2 years)
- MUST be bilingual (English/French)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of physicians, Registered Nurses, and/or other healthcare providers.
- COVID screening prior to patients entering the clinic
- assistance with vaccinations
- conducting patient history and physical assessments
- performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- counseling patients on preventive health care
