About The Position

This is a permanent, full-time Nights RPN position. The hours of work are from 10 pm to 6 am with alternating weekends. The hourly rate is $28.30 CAD. Reason for Posting: Existing Vacancy.

Requirements

  • Registered Practical Nurse designation
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care
  • Medication management skills
  • Experience with discharge planning, consultation, and transfer of residents
  • Accurate and timely documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and support change processes
  • Experience in orientation, training, and in-servicing of nursing staff
  • Ability to guide, direct, train, and educate unregulated care workers
  • Knowledge of quality management frameworks and standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Effective communication skills with family members
  • Upholding organizational values and philosophy

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care to meet the residents' care needs.
  • Ensure resident care plan is initiated in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assume responsibility for medication management including administration, appropriate recording, and safekeeping of all drugs.
  • Assist with scheduling of resident's care conferences and participate in conferences where applicable.
  • In conjunction with the RHA Manager, participate in discharge planning, consultation, and/or transfer of residents.
  • Ensure all documentation reflects accuracy, timeliness, and incorporates input from all staff on unit in accordance with organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate in the planning and effective response to change, taking a supportive role in implementing strategies through change process.
  • Participate in the orientation, training, and in-servicing of nursing staff as required.
  • Support the unregulated care workers through guidance, direction, training and education.
  • Provide nursing care within the framework of quality management and in accordance with the standards of College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Communicate with family members regarding the care and condition of respective residents as required.
  • Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity.
