Part Time Registered Practical Nurse (AbleLiving Services, Binbrook)
About The Position
AbleLiving Services is currently hiring a Part Time Registered Practical Nurse to join our Binbrook Team. This role involves monitoring the health status of persons with disabilities and the senior population, providing nursing services within a defined scope of practice, and ensuring the security and safety of clients, staff, and guests by monitoring the building and taking appropriate action in emergency situations. This position is located at a 52-bed home that includes permanent beds, transitional beds, and 6 beds for clients requiring ventilator assistance. Please note that this location is not accessible by public transit, so access to a vehicle or reliable transportation is required.
Requirements
- Completion of a vocational, college or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body are required.
- Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset.
- May be required to pursue a certificate in bliss symbols and/or sign language.
- Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset.
