About The Position

Erin Mills Lodge located in Mississauga, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in LTC to join their team. This is a Permanent Part-time position with 30 hours bi-weekly, working the night shift from 11pm to 7am. The hiring rate for this role is $30.54 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Requirements

Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Existing Heart Save Level of CPR.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, properly plan for, and allocate the right amount of time and effort to complete tasks.
Ability to remain calm and manage stress appropriately.
Safe administration of medication and treatments.
Ability to follow plans of care (or service plans) in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses.
Ability to identify and report any changes in the resident’s well-being to the Charge Nurse or Village leadership team.
Understanding of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the Long-Term Care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA) of Ontario.
Support and embrace resident-centred social culture.
Deliver high quality of personal care to residents.
Work as a key member of the Village and Neighbourhood multidisciplinary team.
Advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their care.
Support new resident move-ins.
Facilitate transfers to hospital, or any changes in resident medical needs.
Collaborate with the Neighbourhood Physician during weekly rounds and update care plans and directions accordingly.
Proficient communication and computer skills in order to update care plans in the current system.
Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the RPN role.
Proven alignment with organizational vision, mission, and values.

Nice To Haves

MDS credentials.
Experience working with people living with Dementia.
Knowledge of the palliative assessments scale.
Comfortable supporting residents and their families during end-of-life care.
Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices applicable to the retirement and long-term care sector (e.g. RAI processes and CIHI, supplies, equipment ordering, etc.)

Responsibilities
