Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
- Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
- Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers.
- Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care.
Responsibilities
- Providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
- Being an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, building trusted relationships with residents, families, and teams through continuous and effective communication.
- Implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making changes as required.
- Completing and ensuring resident's clinical care assessments, care plans, and documentation are accurate and up-to-date, communicating changes as required.
- Teaching, delegating, and directing unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching and mentorship.
