Are you looking to build a career in a dynamic, supportive, professional environment where your passion for patient care can thrive? As a Registered Practical Nurse, General Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital, you will broaden your experience managing adults with acute and complex medical and cardiac conditions, including patients admitted from the Emergency Room, transferring from Critical Care and Coronary Care units, or recovering from cardiac procedures like angioplasty and pacemaker procedures. You are a self-aware, knowledgeable practitioner, adept at applying the nursing process to enhance patient care, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of patients and their families. Our unit, serving a medically complex and culturally diverse population, provides great opportunities for nurses to contribute to patient care, team dynamics, and personal knowledge growth. As a dependable team member, you are flexible, adaptable, and able to manage varying patient needs and changes in medical acuity effectively. Our team values continual professional development and are keen to support the education and growth of colleagues and students. We are a 24-bed unit with a mix of General Internal Medicine and Cardiology patients primarily requiring medical management for their acute illness that include congested heart failure, pneumonia, COPD, cancer and related complications, gastro-intestinal and other disorders. Our nurses work within an inter-professional team structure and maintain optimal nurse-to-patient ratios across shifts.
