About The Position

Bruyère Health is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for their Complex Care program. This role involves delivering safe, effective, patient-centered, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care within an interdisciplinary team. The nurse will adhere to the scope of practice, organizational policies, and College of Nurses of Ontario standards. Effective communication with patients, families, colleagues, and other health professionals is essential. The position is currently aligned with complex care - 2 north, but is subject to change.

Requirements

Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent
Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate

Nice To Haves

Membership in Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO)
Interest/knowledge of renal disease (Hemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis)
Successful completion of the mandatory peritoneal dialysis training, provided by the hospital (on the unit), within the established timeline
Fluent in French and English

Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, ethical and evidence-based nursing care to patients according to scope of practice and in accordance with Bruyère Health policies, procedures and standards and with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients and their loved ones, colleagues and other health discipline members.
