Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)
  • Experience working as a Registered Pharmacy Technician strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy systems is a strong asset
  • Retail/Community/Long Term Care Pharmacy experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated computer or word processing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage priorities in a time sensitive environment; possesses strong organizational skills
  • Ability to benefit from coaching and instruction for quality processes; comfort with and accepting of constructive feedback

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all prescriptions are complete and authentic
  • Provide final check in a team-based workflow environment and also being involved in the quality assurance team
  • Confirm accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for delivery
  • Accept verbal prescriptions from prescribing authorities
  • Perform the final check of prepared prescriptions
  • Working with advanced pharmacy software and automation technologies to enhance patient safety
  • Clinical service support and leadership opportunities
