Registered Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
SpecialtyRx, a long-term care pharmacy serving long-term care facilities and assisted living communities, is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician. The role supports pharmacy operations by maintaining medication stock, preparing and packaging prescriptions, and following pharmacy standards and procedures. Training is provided for candidates without experience, although previous pharmacy experience is required. The schedule consists of eight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday and every other weekend, with day, evening, and overnight shifts available. New hires must train on first shift from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for two weeks.
Requirements
- Current Registered Ohio Pharmacy Technician license required.
- Previous pharmacy experience required.
- Reliability and ability to execute multiple assigned tasks.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform light lifting.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to bend, lift, squat, and reach.
- Must be able to train on first shift from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for two weeks.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a controlled drugs (narcotics) room.
- Previous data entry experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician license.
Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of a supervisor.
- Maintain floor stock, including restocking and removing expired medications.
- Rotate medication stock to ensure quality control standards.
- Prepack bulk medications prescribed for floor stock.
- Package, fill, and ship medications accurately.
- Maintain pharmacy standards and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to support pharmacy goals.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
