About The Position

Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH) is currently hiring for Registered Nurses. This is a unit-based position that supervises nursing staff on one of four treatment units. Responsibilities include participation in treatment team meetings, therapeutic program activities, and ensuring delivery of patient care according to individual treatment plans. This position acts as the point of leadership for a team of healthcare professionals by guiding, coaching, and evaluating staff. The role utilizes the nursing process with knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, and the physical, psychological, and social needs of the psychiatric patient. Skills in delegating nursing activities, supervising, and counseling nursing employees are essential. Competency must be demonstrated as defined on the Competency Assessment.

Requirements

Basic Computer Knowledge
Virginia State Board of Registered Nursing License

Nice To Haves

Considerable Psychiatric and/or geriatric experience
Med-surg nursing experience
Previous supervisory experience
Long Term Care and Nursing Home Experience
Experience working with Electronic Health Records
