About The Position

Premier Ambulance is expanding its Critical Care Transport (CCT) Program and is hiring experienced CCT RNs for immediate openings. This role involves utilizing training and experience to provide Basic and Advanced Life Support during high-risk ambulance transports. The CCT Transport Nurse works alongside specially trained EMTs to provide direct patient care to critically ill patients requiring cardiac and respiratory monitoring, IV-infused medications, and ventilators. Transports are typically between hospitals and facilities. The position offers a team environment with new, state-of-the-art equipment and modern technology.

Requirements

California State Registered Nurse (unrestricted licensure)
AHA BLS
AHA ACLS
AHA PALS
NIH Stroke Scale (Within 90 days of hire)
Two years of nursing experience in a critical care area relevant to the type of SCT transports the RN will provide (pediatric vs. adult), within the previous 24 months prior to employment as a transport nurse.
Two years of experience in a critical care environment (ER, ICU) in a large tertiary care facility that provides high acuity patients with a wide range of diagnoses.
Emergency Room Critical Care or ICU: 2 years (Required)

Responsibilities

Represent the organization by being courteous, professional, and a patient advocate in all settings.
Ensure continuity of services while adhering to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they pertain to the CCT Program.
Maintain thorough familiarity with treatment protocols, response requirements, and quality assurance procedures within each assigned system.
Demonstrate ability to resolve unusual problems and provide direction.
Report any problems and unusual occurrences immediately to the CCT Manager.
Communicate and collaborate with the CCT Manager on pertinent issues.
Prioritize multiple tasks.
Work both independently and as a team member.
Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas.
