As a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), you will provide safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions requiring more monitoring and care than a traditional medical-surgical setting. The 40-bed IMCU cares for patients with cardiac conditions, stroke, and multi-organ dysfunction. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4–5. You will perform comprehensive assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and evaluate patient responses to care. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care and promote positive patient outcomes. You will follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and appropriately delegate tasks based on patient condition, staff competency, and scope of practice. This is a full-time position with 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, totaling 36 hours per week. Self-scheduling is available. The facility is nicotine-free.
