About The Position

Provide guidance, supervision and education to clients and staff regarding mental and medical health issues, medication side effects, medication administration and general health services. This role involves performing all duties in accordance with ElevaCare policies and licensing agencies, assisting in the development of policies and procedures for medication administration safety, assessing clients for medication side effects, monitoring client health in collaboration with physicians, coordinating medical services, responding to medical emergencies, and providing ongoing consultation to staff. The position also includes supporting outpatient psychiatric physician services, assisting with e-prescribing capabilities, and attending case consultation meetings.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Minnesota.
  • Qualified as Mental Health Practitioner in state of Minnesota.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work the hours specified above.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of ElevaCare and licensing agencies.
  • Assists ElevaCare management in the development of policies, procedures, forms and training programs which assure the effectiveness and safety of medication administration within the Center.
  • Assures clients are assessed for medication side effects/drug interactions in support of Physician and/or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Monitors health of clients in collaboration with Physician and/or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Assists in coordination with medical services, including emergency medical services.
  • Assists in assuming an effective response by program staff to medical emergencies.
  • Provides ongoing consultation and advice to Center staff.
  • Provides Outpatient Psychiatric Physician Support Services including vitals, orders, etc.
  • Assists with establishment and maintenance of e-prescribing capabilities for organization.
  • Attends Case Consultation staff meetings and in-services.
  • Conducts in-service training relating to medical health or medications.
  • Provides Medication Education Services (MES).
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Must possess the required level of skills and abilities to read, write, speak, and apply mathematical concepts and sound reasoning to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
  • Must be able to perform basic operations on a computer within the Windows operating system.
  • This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.
