About The Position

Dignity Health - French Hospital Medical Center is a 112-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital in San Luis Obispo, California. Requirements

• Registered Nurse: California (RN:CA).
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Emergency Department experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigns triage level as appropriate based on a brief history and indicated vital signs.
• Performs and documents an appropriate nursing history and physical admission on an ongoing basis.
• Performs and documents age-specific assessment of the patient's basic physiological condition, including mental status, skin signs, pain level, and complaint-specific information.
• Based on assessment, appropriately informs the physician of the priority of patients needing examination or treatment.
• Completes procedures to keep the department prepared for emergency patient care, including checking the crash cart, glucoscan, and oxygen tank, and performing daily bedside checks of oxygen and suction supplies.
• Sets priorities and provides nursing care according to patients' needs and age appropriateness.
• Implements the medical care plan as delegated.
