Registered Nurse
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in a satellite unit serving patients in RCTP OB, RCTP Dorm, long-term care, the infirmary Therapeutic Behavioral Unit (TBU), and the incarcerated general population (GP). The nurse receives a verbal report from the nurse who worked the satellite unit, processes physician orders, administers and documents medications, performs medication and tool counts, assesses patients brought to the unit, and documents RCTP admissions and nursing progress notes. Hours vary to accommodate unit needs and may include every other weekend, some holidays, or overtime. No travel is required, and free parking is provided. Proper footwear is required to perform tasks safely. The nurse may also perform other reasonably related duties as required. Salary is commensurate with scope of work and job experience.

Responsibilities
- Receive a verbal report from the nurse who worked the satellite unit.
- Process physician orders by entering them into CNET, printing updated MARs, and verifying new MARs with a second RN.
- Administer medications to patients in RCTP OB, RCTP Dorm, long-term care, the infirmary TBU, and the incarcerated general population.
- Document medications administered and refused.
- Perform control and tool counts with a second nurse.
- Count stock medications and document medication accountability on the appropriate form.
- Assess patients brought to the satellite unit and admit them to RCTP if needed, documenting the RCTP admission form.
- Document RCTP nursing progress notes.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as required.
