Kern Medical is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse. Per diem employees supplement department staffing needs and are not guaranteed minimum hours; they must be willing and available to work four shifts during each six-week scheduling period. The role’s compensation is estimated at $41.0485 to $64.6800, with possible additional compensation through differentials, incentives, and bonuses. The Registered Nurse provides patient-centered nursing care, from collecting and interpreting assessment data to developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. The nurse collaborates with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and Advanced Practice Providers; responds to changes in patient status; supports patient and family education; and contributes to safe, evidence-based care and a positive team environment. The classification accommodates nurses with varying levels of experience and may include orienting and mentoring other staff. Nursing practice is governed through the Chief Nursing Officer and/or an RN designee. Candidates must have graduated from an accredited registered nursing program and hold a valid, unrestricted California RN license. A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is preferred. At least one year of Registered Nursing experience in the area of application and a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS card are required. Employees must maintain Kern Medical’s designated health requirements; additional competency certificates or education may be required depending on assignment. A background check may be required. All Kern Medical employees are designated Disaster Service Workers and may be required to remain at or report to work during a disaster or civil disorder. If duties require driving, applicable California driver’s license and vehicle-use policy requirements apply.
