About The Position
CoreCivic is seeking a Registered Nurse with a passion for providing high-quality care in an institutional setting. The successful candidate must perform the listed functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited college, university, or nursing program with a degree or diploma in nursing.
- Possess current licensure in the state of employment.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 20 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- One year of professional nursing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
- Attend sick call with the physician; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined and prepare the examining room and equipment.
- Examine and assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries, as well as those who become ill or injured; refer them to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facilities as required by their condition.
- Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify the Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders.
- Guide, supervise, and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
