About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work in an Emergency Department surge/overflow unit in Worcester, Massachusetts, providing care to patients who overflow into the ED. The nurse will be stationed in the ED and float to different areas within the department as needed to support surge and overflow patient care. This is an onsite, three-month contract scheduled for four 12-hour shifts per week, with an evening shift beginning at 3:00 PM. A Massachusetts nursing license and BLS certification are required; ACLS is preferred, as is two years of telemetry experience. Nurses must complete medication and telemetry exams during orientation. Each exam allows one attempt, and failure to pass results in immediate contract cancellation. Study materials will be provided during the compliance process and before the first day of instruction. The facility uses Epic for charting. Flu vaccination is required, with medical or religious exemptions and declinations allowed; COVID-19 vaccination is not required. The facility permits one of the three major upcoming holidays in requested time off, but time off will not be approved for December 24, December 25, or December 31.
