About The Position
Ginger Cove is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team on 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). This position offers a predictable schedule working an alternating schedule of Fridays and Tuesdays, plus every other weekend. The RN will provide high-quality nursing care, support the health, comfort, and well-being of residents during overnight hours, and promote a safe, calm, and comfortable environment.
Requirements
- Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Knowledge and experience working with senior communities in a long-term care facility
- Experience caring for residents with Alzheimer’s and/or dementia
- At least one year full-time clinical experience in a Home Health agency or related community health program
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, family members, doctors, and co-workers
- Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership
- Computer literacy
- Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified timeframe
- Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly, and use tact in dealing with others
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, senior living, or home health preferred
- Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assess resident health and provide skilled nursing care
- Administer medications and treatments
- Monitor resident conditions and communicate with physicians as needed
- Maintain accurate medical documentation
- Assist with care planning and resident assessments
- Respond promptly to medical needs and emergencies
- Collaborate with nursing assistants and interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional resident care
- Promote a safe, calm, and comfortable environment throughout the night
