About The Position

Planned Parenthood of Maryland (PPM) is seeking an empathetic and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about reproductive healthcare, patient education, and delivering high-quality, non-judgmental care. This role directly supports patients' freedom to make informed decisions about their bodies. The position is .8 FTE, with 2 days in Baltimore (Monday and Tuesday) and 2 days in Annapolis (Wednesday and Thursday). The RN will serve as a vital on-the-floor clinical leader, ensuring seamless patient flow, clinical standards, and care delivery. They will act as a cohesive link for the clinical team, collaborating with clinicians, medical assistants, and support staff to maintain a professional, supportive, and efficient healthcare environment. Responsibilities include preparing the recovery suite, administering medications, and mentoring medical learners and interns, ensuring safety, compliance, and clinical warmth.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Maryland state (or Maryland endorsed) Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Active BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 180 days).
  • A strong, genuine alignment with the mission of Planned Parenthood of Maryland.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and comfortably assist patients from exam tables to wheelchairs.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.
  • Prior nursing experience in reproductive health, abortion care, gynecology, or labor and delivery.
  • Experience with obstetric sonography (or a strong willingness to learn!).
  • Bilingual Spanish fluency is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care across the health center, conducting patient medical histories, clinical counseling, vitals, and lab work.
  • Support procedures and recovery, including patient notification and clinical follow-up.
  • Prepare the recovery room for surgical days with appropriate medications, patient records, and emergency equipment.
  • Administer medications per clinician or standing orders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation by entering patient information into Electronic Practice Management (EPM) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Adhere to PPM's high customer service standards, helping patients participate in satisfaction surveys, and providing service recovery when concerns arise.
  • Partner closely with medical providers, co-workers, volunteers, interns, and medical learners to support a cohesive, respectful team environment.
