About The Position

Denver Health is seeking a mission-driven Registered Nurse to provide care in its Clinical Decision Unit, a short-stay unit within emergency services for patients initially evaluated in the emergency department. Patients typically stay 8–16 hours and receive ongoing medical treatments, assessments, and disposition planning from a multidisciplinary team. The team-based setting supports nursing autonomy and provides a transition between emergency and inpatient care. Nursing ratios are 1:5; healthcare technicians have a 1:8 ratio on days. Under general supervision, the RN follows American Nurses Association (ANA) professional nursing standards and the ANA Code of Ethics. The nurse applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and clinical competence while collaborating with the healthcare team to promote patient safety and quality outcomes. Required credentials include BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and an RN license from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
