About The Position

The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs, and implementing clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care. The role involves developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the RN conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, safely demonstrates basic knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, and provides episodic (outpatient) and inpatient pediatric nursing care where applicable. The position requires applying knowledge of contemporary Pediatric nursing practice and future innovations, utilizing nursing practice for the care of pediatric patients requiring nursing assessment and interdisciplinary team interventions, and evaluating, updating, and revising the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes. Administering medications safely and consistently with the State of Practice and organizational policies is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, PALS required within 6 months of hire based on departmental requirements)
  • Recent Medical/Surgical, NICU, Pediatric, OB, ED or critical care experience (preferred, not required)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)
