About The Position
Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern New Mexico is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for day and night shifts. The hospital is part of Ernest Health and provides specialized inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to Southern New Mexico communities. Its 40-bed facility serves patients recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions, and has received national recognition for rehabilitative care and Joint Commission certifications in brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord care. The nurse delivers patient-centered rehabilitation care to a diverse population, including stroke survivors and pediatric patients. The role involves working with an interdisciplinary care team to implement and optimize treatment plans, tracking patients’ progress and responses to therapy, and explaining medical information clearly to patients and their families. The hospital offers full-time and part-time positions on day and night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients during their rehabilitation journey.
- Work with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitians, and case managers to implement and optimize treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed records of patient improvements, challenges, and responses to therapy interventions.
- Explain complex medical information clearly to patients and families.
