About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, plans and implements patient and family education and is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients. In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
Requirements
- Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
- American Heart Association BLS
- Competence in and a willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing.
- Participates in two hours annually of trauma education
- Participates in eight hours annually of orthopedic education
- Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times
- Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment
- Creativity, problem analysis and decision making
- Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality
- Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight
- Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Collects Comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation (Assessment)
- Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
- Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation
- Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes (Plan of Care)
- Implements the identified plan of care
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment
- Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
- Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice

- Participates in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire
- Participates in one hour annually of cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education
