About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents, and supervising the day to day nursing activities performed by the Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses in accordance with federal, state and local standards. The Registered Nurse collaborates with all clinical staff and providers, communicating patient care information to residents and their families.

Requirements

Associate's Degree from an accredited Registered Nursing program

Responsibilities

Delivering quality nursing care as part of a healthcare team
Collaborating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care plans
Evaluating resident needs through ongoing assessment and revising care plan based on changes in resident's condition
Interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess resident's condition
Preparing and administering medications as ordered by a physician
Preparing rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensuring supplies are maintained
Performing additional nursing duties as assigned
Communicating resident healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare team or provider
Providing clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants
Delegating and communicating resident care to appropriate team members based on skill, knowledge, and patient acuity
Assuring daily accurate, concise reporting, and documentation of resident condition and needs with appropriate follow-up
Facilitating resident and family education on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and developing health improvement programs
