About The Position

The Clinical Nurse coordinates and delivers patient care in an outpatient or physician-practice setting using the nursing process. The role administers care under physician direction and works with an interdisciplinary care team to identify and pursue patient outcomes. The position is in Pardee UNC Health Care’s Infusion Therapy organization unit and is onsite at PARDEECANCR. The work schedule is a day job, with per-diem status and 9 standard hours per week.

Requirements

Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a compact state by the day of clinical care.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Administer patient care under the direction of a physician.
Identify and pursue expected patient outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs.
Consult appropriate resources promptly about patients with complex care issues or unusual teaching needs.
Collaborate with peers in a clinical operations environment and foster intra- and interdepartmental communication.
Synthesize data from complex situations to determine care priorities, including physical, psychosocial, education, and safety needs.
Communicate with patients and families to prepare or update the plan of care using cultural competency and active listening.
Develop relationships with patients and families that promote their ability to advocate for patient and family needs.
Develop clinical and operational excellence in self and peers through education and training.
Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment, including applying standard precautions and infection-control principles.
