Registered Nurse (RN) Stem Cell Transplant Infusion PRN
About The Position
Inova Schar Cancer Institute’s Stem Cell Transplant Clinic is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to work in its Stem Cell Transplant Infusion Clinic on a PRN basis. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Nurses work 12-hour shifts, and weekend call coverage options are available, especially for PRN team members. The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable, caring clinical practice and care coordination by understanding the needs of patients, families, nurses, and healthcare delivery teams. The nurse provides safe, therapeutic, holistic, and systematic care in a patient- and family-centered manner, incorporating individual differences. Responsibilities include integrating knowledge, skills, and experience to support patients and families throughout the continuum of care, including education; communicating and working cooperatively with other clinical disciplines; and determining care-delivery processes through direct communication with patients and families, technology, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
- BSN or ADN; ADN graduates must complete a BSN within 5 years of their start date.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Must obtain a Chemo card within 3 months of hire.
- RN license and eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Proficiency in English and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
- Proficient computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous chemotherapy infusion experience is strongly preferred.
