About The Position
The Registered Nurse works at the Danvers Treatment Center, a detoxification program providing 24-hour nursing care to men and women as they withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs. The program monitors withdrawal and alleviates symptoms while providing medical and emotional support during a pivotal stage of recovery. This nurse helps meet patient care needs and contributes to a positive therapeutic environment. The schedule is 36 hours per week, overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Requirements
- Valid and current Massachusetts licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with addiction treatment services is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Record and report observed symptoms, reactions to treatments, and changes in patients’ safety status.
- Collaborate with the team to provide health information and maintain clients’ medical records.
- Respond to patient care needs and issues, and assist patients with activities of daily living while promoting a positive therapeutic environment.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and assist with developing care plans.
- Administer medications to patients.
