About The Position

Kansas Surgery and Recovery Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for its Post-Op department. The facility is a leader in exceptional patient care, specializing in elective procedures across numerous specialties, and is the leading orthopedic surgery specialty hospital in Kansas. They continually invest in new technologies. This position involves working 4 days a week, with hours from 0900-1900, and may have varying hours with a rotating day off. The role is responsible for planning, executing, directing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care for surgical patients, including preparing and organizing the environment, equipment, and supplies for post-operative recovery.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Active RN license as required by the state of employment.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or Critical Care setting: preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
BLS, PALS, and ACLS required.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Must be able to walk or stand for hours during job performance.
Handles confidential data professionally according to hospital policy and procedures.
Verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to deal with stress is a necessity in dealing with subordinates, employees, physicians, their office staff, and vendors.
Mentally and physically healthy.

Nice To Haves

One-year previous hospital experience in a critical care environment, preferably in a surgical care setting.

Responsibilities

Planning, executing, directing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient.
Preparation and organization of the environment, equipment and supplies required to perform the clinical activities necessary to recover patients after their surgery.
