RN NIGHT SHIFT PART TIME
About The Position
This position involves working the night shift in a part-time capacity at the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) at Plateau Mental Health Center. The role requires implementing policies and procedures, supervising Psychiatric Technicians, and assisting with patient care, including daily living activities and medical needs ordered for patients. Responsibilities also include screening calls related to medication, arranging educational sessions for patients and families about their medications, monitoring lab work related to specific medications, and supporting patients in receiving their medications through individual or group sessions. The nurse will also be responsible for phone or dispensing prescriptions (signed by the doctor) in consultation with the psychiatrist, completing Admission Assessments, creating Treatment Plans, and participating in staffing. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee
- Experience working in the mental health field

- Registered Nurse with Psychiatric Certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Implement policies and procedures of the Crisis Stabilization Unit
- Supervise Psychiatric Technicians on shift
- Assist Psychiatric Technicians when needed in providing for the daily living activities of the patients
- Implement procedures for providing the medical needs ordered for each patient while in CSU
- Screen calls and questions pertaining to medication
- Arrange educational sessions for patients pertaining to medication
- Document all patients having had a handout sheet and educational session pertaining to their medications. Also, patient’s family when indicated
- Monitor the lab work within the guidelines pertaining to the specific medication
- Help maintain and support patients receiving medications by individual evaluation and/or group
- Phone or dispense prescriptions (signed by the doctor) in consultation with the psychiatrist
- Complete Admission Assessments and create Treatment Plans
- Participate in staffing
- Other duties as assigned
