About The Position

The LCH 10P Medical Surgical Unit is an inpatient floor consisting of 26 beds. The 10th floor specializes in the care of patients, 0-18 years of age, with neurosurgical, trauma, orthopedic and cystic fibrosis diagnoses. Ideally, all patients with these diagnoses are admitted to LCH 10 as they require specialized, often progressive, care. This unit was very proud to be awarded the Daisy Team award. They embody the culture of teamwork, flexibility, and care.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of inpatient nursing experience preferred.
• At least 6 months required experience to come in outside of the New Grad residency program.

Responsibilities

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
