About The Position
Beacon Behavioral Hospital, a prominent behavioral health provider in Louisiana with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN AM & PM shifts at its Bunkie Inpatient Facility. Beacon operates across multiple locations, offering inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for individuals facing emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental health challenges. Requirements
- Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of operation.
- A Bachelor’s, Associate degree or diploma in nursing with documented evidence of an educational program focused on treating psychiatric patients.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 year providing nursing care to the mentally ill, OR receive regular documented supervision/consultation from a Master’s prepared psychiatric nurse.
- Certification in Basic Life Support required.
- Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.
Responsibilities
- Function as the Charge Nurse, responsible for nursing care and supervision of LPNs, CNAs and Mental Health Technicians.
- Assure that care provided demonstrates the ANA standards for care and utilizes evidence-based practice.
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of the treatment program, including individual Plans of Care.
- Serve as the Medication Nurse as needed and assist LPNs and all staff as needed.
- Assist the DON as the liaison between the program staff and medical staff.
- Work within established budget and staffing guidelines.
- Participate in Performance Improvement by engaging in the plan, study, do act cycle of improvement.
- Serve as a role model to others of professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
