Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic Unit 7W - St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Orthopedic Unit at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The nurse assesses patient status, implements clinical nursing interventions, develops and performs patient care plans to improve outcomes, and ensures a safe and therapeutic environment. The role requires strong organizational and leadership skills and a diverse medical skillset. This is a full-time night position, scheduled 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with 36 scheduled hours per week.
Requirements
- One year of RN experience.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; it must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, chart, and assess patient condition.
- Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Administer medications safely and consistently with the State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses.
- Implement clinical nursing interventions and develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
