About The Position

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. The RN establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers; delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care; monitors patient progress; and prepares patients for discharge. The position reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities. The role is at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Oakland County. The facility provides services including maternity care, cancer treatment, cardiac services, and inpatient and outpatient diagnostic care.

Requirements

Graduation from a school of nursing.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
