About The Position

The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate and triage patient care and to work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their family, and care providers to develop and implement individual health plans.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.
  • Valid RN License.
  • Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience.
  • Ability to perform point-of-care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare for laboratory processing.

Nice To Haves

  • BLS Cert
  • A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy
  • Two years of experience in an ambulatory care setting

Responsibilities

  • Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard.
  • Develops patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data.
  • Evaluates patients' progress toward the attainment of desired outcomes.
  • Administers medication following department/unit standards and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family-centered care principles, practice standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports integrating current evidence into nursing practice.
  • Promotes an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff.
  • Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicates care appropriately through medical record documentation.
  • Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means.
  • Participates in staff recruitment and retention.
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of evidence-based nursing practice standards that comply with ANA standards.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
