About The Position

Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana. This bonus-eligible position works a 12-hour night shift and includes mandatory call. The unit cares for patients at various stages of pregnancy; common patient types and conditions include normal labor, labor induction, scheduled cesarean sections, high-risk pregnancies, and outpatients. Common diagnoses include threatened premature labor, scheduled term induction, scheduled cesarean section with or without medical indication, genitourinary tract infections during pregnancy, and other maternal conditions classified elsewhere during pregnancy.

The nurse implements, directs, communicates, and documents the nursing process and helps maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and associates. The role follows established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, and Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, while supporting Powers Health’s mission and philosophy and providing high-quality care. The nurse serves community needs and demonstrates dignity, compassionate care, community, quality, and stewardship.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current professional licensure through the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
• Obtain and maintain current certification as required in specialty areas.
• Obtain and maintain current CPR certification.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
