About The Position
Garden Grove Hospital Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Medical/Surgical Unit. The nurse delivers safe, direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and practices within the scope of practice. The role includes guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is accountable for care provided to assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Garden Grove Hospital Medical Center is a 167-bed community hospital in Southern California and a member of Prime Healthcare. It provides acute care services including medical/surgical inpatient care, critical care, emergency services, orthopedics, maternity care, and wound care.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
Nice To Haves
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintain standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Remain accountable for the care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
