About The Position

Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join their team. This is a part-time position, working weekends only (7pm-7am), and is benefits-eligible. Weisman Children's is a leading pediatric rehabilitation organization dedicated to providing individualized, family-centered care to children with physical and/or developmental disabilities and chronic illnesses. Requirements

  • Licensed by the New Jersey Board of Nursing
  • CPR certified

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year prior experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation nursing preferred
  • Will consider New Graduates

Responsibilities

  • Practice within the legal framework defined by the Nursing Practice Act of New Jersey for Registered Nurses.
  • Adhere to the Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice as defined by the American Nurses Association (General, Rehabilitation, and Pediatric).
  • Provide patient care and pediatric rehabilitation nursing services to children with physical and/or developmental disability and chronic illness.
  • Maintain professional practice standards by providing nursing interventions that meet individual needs and are consistent with the total rehabilitation program.
  • Perform hands-on nursing care utilizing the nursing process to achieve quality outcomes for the patient.
  • Provide direction and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Demonstrate professional judgment, use problem-solving techniques and time-management principles, and delegate appropriately.
  • Coordinate nursing care activities in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to facilitate achievement of overall goals.
  • Coordinate total nursing care for patient assignments.
  • Initiate and participate in patient and family teaching.
  • Provide leadership by working collaboratively with other disciplines on the rehabilitation team in maintaining optimal standards of patient care.
  • Supervise and delegate appropriate functions to LPNs and NAs, ensuring delegated functions are appropriately carried out.
  • May be designated as team captain/charge nurse.
  • Provide pediatric rehabilitation nursing input at team conferences and family meetings.
